Bendigo Community Bank brings Christmas cheer to North Ryde

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Bendigo Community Bank North Ryde.

“Our decorations are up and the festive spirit is in full swing with our $1000 donation to Rotary for the Tree of Joy at Cox’s Road Mall, and a cheque for $2,500 to support the fundraising efforts of this year’s virtual Carols on the Common,” Branch Manager Pat Italiano said.
The Bendigo Community Bank North Ryde was opened at Cox’s Road Mall in 2005 and celebrated its 15 year anniversary this year.
Since opening, the Community Bank has returned over $350,000 to the local community, which it continues to serve during the current pandemic.
“This year we have continued this support by remaining open during the COVID-19 pandemic to allow our community to continue to have access to our full suite of banking services, as well as supporting local organisations with donations and sponsorships,” he said.
Among this year’s major COVID safe projects and celebrations are Rotary’s Tree of Joy and Carols On The Common, which the bank is proud to support.
“We are always proud to support Rotary’s Tree of Joy, as well as the Carols on the Common, and this year we are pleased to continue our association with Rotary to support those who have been doing it particularly tough.
“We really enjoy getting out amongst the community and while we aren’t able to do that this year, we are pleased to see that Rotary has managed to adapt to the COVID challenge with a revised format for this year’s Carols, and that we can still provide support for our community through providing funds to help those in our community”, Mr Italiano said.
The bank’s generosity reflects a genuine commitment to the community and people in the community worth supporting.
“It has been a difficult year for some people in our community but as a community bank, we believe in feeding into the community, not off it.”
