Edmed boots Eastwood into the grand final

Young five-eighth Tane Edmed – the son of Balmain Tigers legend Steve Edmed – booted Eastwood into this Saturday’s Shute Shield Final.

Edmed kicked the four penalty goals in the Woodies 12 points to 9 win against North Sydney at Pittwater Park on Saturday that will see them play in the grand final against Gordon on Saturday at Leichhardt Oval.
The fiercely competitive semi final needed 20 minutes of extra time to split the two rivals and ensure Eastwood’s first grand final appearance since their 2015 premiership year and the first Eastwood against Gordon decider since 1976.
“It was a crazy game…I’ve never been part of a game like that,” Edmed said.
“The other boys put in the hard yards, I just do the kicking.
“It’s unbelievable because a lot of people counted us out of the finals.”
