Photo campaign to show teaching’s bright future

Parents and children are being invited to post photographs of themselves wearing sunglasses to celebrate World Teachers Day this Friday.

The images will be used in a photographic exhibition hosted by The Australian Institute For Teaching and School Leadership to express appreciation for teachers in government and non-government schools.

The glasses theme reflects the bright future students have under the guidance of dedicated teachers.

“On World Teachers’ Day we celebrate a remarkable profession and its bright future by posting photographs in your sunglasses on social media, either on your own or with your colleagues,” the team at The Australian Institute For Teaching and School Leadership said.

“Parents, carers and the Australian community, we’d love you to get involved too!

“Post a photo in your sunglasses on social media, either on your own or with family or friends, to say a big thank you to teachers and celebrate the bright future of teaching.”

To submit a photo on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn, include the following with your post: #thankteachers #brightfuture @aitsl.

The team at The Australian Institute For Teaching and School Leadership said Australia’s teachers are among the world’s best, taking personal pride and satisfaction in what they do.

“Our teachers occupy positions of trust and confidence in the community,” it said.

“It is worth reflecting on how the public and teachers themselves view the profession, and ways to continue attracting and retaining quality teachers.”
